Johnjames Bruce, who is he...exactly
Johnjames Bruce...A solo acoustic singer-songwriter, hailing from Accrington, Lancashire.
Originally a bass player for local punk band The Irrelevants, he is now journeying his musical adventure with a sound of acoustic post-punk, creating a unique blend of rawness, energy and intimacy.
A believer that music and art can be used as a uniting force to inspire hope and love, sometimes in the most unexpected of places.
Johnjames blends all of the above into his writing process, and is developing a reputation for creating unique, raw, heart on sleeve songs, overflowing with his unique take on the alternative, acoustic post-punk sound.

Johnjames' influences often evolve as he discovers new artists to join the long list of friends and creatives that have impacted him in some way, therefore he has produced a playlist to share some of the songs and artists he is currently listening to.

Here are lyrical concerns which reflect the ordinary world of slippers, tea, biscuits and visits to Chester Zoo, always within the context of faith. John's is a big voice: bizarre, surreal and anarchic, a voice reminiscent of Ian Curtis of Joy Division, of Nick Cave (of the Bad Seeds). 7/10 -
